Why do men have such big feet?
Once upon a time, I thought I was a pretty quick sock knitter.

But when it comes to men’s socks, Good Lawd! Those things are L-O-N-G! But, I powered through. And now, it’s just time for the packaging. One of the funnest parts!
If you have been following along, I have been knitting on these socks for a friend of my husband named, Rob. Long story short, Rob’s a modern day scavenger. He would probably be the greenest guy I know! So, in keeping with his tendency to take home found things for personal re-use (or even for our use at times :) ), I decided to use one of my favorite books to help me pack his gift.

Trash Origami by Michael G. LaFosse and Richard L. Alexander is one of the funnest books on origami that I have. It’s also one of the last books I bought as a hardcover book. I don’t get to look in it much because it isn’t on my iPad. But, it’s a lovely coffee table book and since it has been Kindlized, it is downloadable (if you’re interested in seeing it right now). It has designs for boxes, stationery, games, books, party favors, and a few more interesting forms. Great photos and clear illustrations throughout. And what could be more fun than making something great out of throw aways?
I decided to round up some magazines that are on their way out around the house to use for this endeavor. Hmm…Just like, Rob!

Then I decided I’d rather use the more rugged, manly ones…It just makes more sense.
